ASTONASTON

ASTON is a digital screening tool designed to support earlier identification of neurodivergent traits and more timely pathways to assessment and care.
It gathers and scores structured observations from caregivers, teachers and young people aged 12 and over, bringing the results together into a clear, comprehensive screening profile with detailed data to support referral and assessment planning.
ASTON does not provide a diagnosis. Results should be interpreted by a qualified health professional — including medical practitioners, psychologists and other registered clinicians.
Who is ASTON for?
Medical practitioners and other clinicians run the screening. Practice managers can list a clinic. Teachers register a school. Parents and carers complete a form link — they do not create an account.

Register your school
Teachers use a school account, not a clinician account. Register the school, then sign in. If a clinic already sent you a form link, open that link. You do not need an account for that.
Parents and carers: ASTON is used through your child's clinician or school. It is not a self diagnosis test.
Nine domains
Each informant rates observable behaviour across the same nine domains, so the clinician can compare home, school and self report side by side.
Domains map to the areas clinicians already consider for autism, ADHD and specific learning disorder.
Three steps
A clinic or a school starts the screening
It is a reciprocal pathway. A clinician can invite the school, or a teacher can start the screener and send it to a clinic in the network. Parents consent before anything moves.
Each informant completes their questionnaire
Parent, teacher and, usually from age 12, the young person. Independently, in their own time.
The clinician receives one screening report
Domain scores across all informants, areas of concern flagged, and a clear indication of whether further assessment is recommended. Schools see pathway status only, never scores.

Does not replace it.
Like any screening scale, ASTON does not diagnose autism, ADHD, specific learning disorder or any other condition. A screening result does not confirm or rule out a diagnosis and should never be read on its own.
What it does is get the clinician ready. Before the first appointment they already have structured multi informant data, a view of which domains are elevated and where, and a clear basis for deciding whether a full assessment, monitoring or a conversation is the right next step. That is what good screening is for.
